We booked this half-day excursion to Yala National Park — and it was amazing! The safari was perfectly organized, and we had a fantastic experience, enjoying every minute of it!
Both drivers — for the transfer to the park and the safari itself — were very professional, and we felt safe and comfortable with them throughout the trip.
The transfer driver shared many interesting facts about Sri Lanka, its people, history, and culture, which we truly appreciated, as it was our first trip to Sri Lanka. On our way back to the hotel, he also stopped at some small local shops so we could buy the best local fruits. After the safari, he even arranged a delicious birthday cake for my sister at one of the local restaurants near the park — such a thoughtful surprise that made her very happy!
The safari itself was absolutely amazing! Although we didn’t get to see a leopard, we saw many elephants — often up close — as they walked right by our car, which was truly impressive! In addition, we spotted a variety of birds, monitor lizards, crocodiles, and more.
Since we chose the morning half-day tour, we also enjoyed a beautiful sunrise over the park, which made for a perfect start to my sister’s birthday and our Sri Lanka adventure. This safari turned out to be a wonderful birthday present for her.
